David Lozano is a Chicago based artist and adjunct assistant professor at the School of the Art Institute. He was born in Houston Texas, where he received his BFA at the University of Houston. His MFA is from the University of Illinois in Chicago. His advisor in graduate school was the renowned artist Kerry James Marshall.  Lozano’s exhibition’s include: the Blaffer Gallery in Houston; Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago, IL; Kinsey Institute Gallery, Bloomington, IN; Evanston Art Center, Evanston, IL; Art Miami, Miami, FL; a group exhibition curated by Marshall at Koplin Del Rio Gallery, Los Angeles, CA.  Lozano currently is represented by Zolla/Lieberman Gallery in Chicago. He has participated in Joan Mitchell Center artists residency in New Orleans, LA.  He has received numerous grants including the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors award and has been reviewed in publications such as the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times and the L.A. Times.
